1999 New York Stickball Classic Queens event
(QUEENS, 8/7/1999) There were six teams in this week's competitions, two not
even from the borough of Queens.
While the Fourth Street Boys of Manhattan were the winners, the Caledonia
Old-Timers, a group of 60+ year old players, made the biggest impression on
the crowd. Great stickball games were played on two fields, one wide and
favoring the hitters, one narrow, supporting the defense.
This may well have been the friendliest event of this year's tournament. Lots
of good people in attendance and a picure perfect day.
