1999 Stickball Classic New Jersey competition (JERSEY CITY, 8/28/1999) Five teams came to play here, a couple from across the river. The finals saw the hometown Jersey City Saints battle it out with the Bronx Knights, a veteran NY team. The Knights came away with the victory defeating the Saints 9-2. In the longball competition, David Meerow was the winner with a monster 350 foot shot. This is the longest drive hit to date in the 1999 longball competition. Unfortunately, we do not have photos of this event because Mick, our stickball aficionado, was away on vacation. If anyone has a picture, we would appreciate posting it. Please send us a note.
