Dear Streetplay readers,

Steve Mercado, a leader in the stickball community, was one of
the brave firefighters lost in the World Trade Center on
September 11, 2001. In tribute, we've created a section
dedicated to Steve.  We hope it conveys some of the truly
inspiring qualities of this wonderful man and the strong
