Welcome to a great tradition

Streetplay is proud to host the Virtual Stickball Hall of Fame. We believe this on-line exhibit will enable many people to become familiar with the wonderful game of stickball, its great players and the colorful characters who have been a part of it's tradition. If you have a story, photo or suggestion of someone you'd like nominate, please contact us.

Museum of the City of New York

As a cultural institution dedicated to preserving the history and tradition of the Big Apple, the Museum of the City of New York has played a key role in the development of the Stickball Hall of Fame. Over the past twenty years, the museum has hosted several exhibits related to stickball and other urban street games. The museum has agreed to become the official home for the Stickball Hall of Fame displaying plaques of new inductees and hosting an ongoing stickball exhibit.

The museum has a wonderful website located at www.mcny.org, loaded with fascinating exhibits about the history of New York City.

Stickball Hall of Fame Inc.

The Stickball Hall of Fame Inc., is a non-profit organization created by some of New York's great stickball players dedicated to preserving and continuing the game of stickball. It is working with The Museum of the City of New York to ensure that the Stickball Hall of Fame represents the five boros of NYC and other communities in which the game was played.

The Stickball Hall of Fame was made possible due to the work of people like Charlie Ballard, Carlos Diaz, Vito Giannone, Moe Morrero, Raul Rodriguez, John Stephens and Pete Velez. For more information about the organization and future plans, contact Carlos Diaz at (212) 410-7707
