"Calling" the game
And here it is, the Giants are down by 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth. Two men on, two out and Willie Mays steps up to the plate. The crowd is on their feet. Spahn stares at Mays, he sets, winds up, and the pitch...

Fantasy ball, one of the great pleasures of youth. You could do it while playing with your pals to liven up a game of catch, but nothin' beat the play by play analysis that was possible as when playing stoopball by yourself.

You'd modify your stance, to stand in front of the porch instead of alongside, and then throw, catch, announce and score the game. Arms waving, hands grabbing, eyes darting, tongue wagging; pure boyhood in full gear.
