Artie Cussell held his annual Pro-Doubles event to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately 'Butterhup' wasn't feeling well and couldn't make this year's event. All his friends did call to let him know that, as he instructed, the show did go on. The cash awards were as follows: champions $400/team, runners-up $200/team and semifinalists $100/team.

Ron Reggio , a free lance producer for YES, showed up with a camera crew to shoot some of the action and do interviews.

QUARTERFINALS
- Joe Kaplan & Cesar Sala d. Dennis Machuca & Kareem Wilkerson (11point handicap) 25-19,
- Joe Durso & Willie Polanco d. Albert Apuzzi & Eric Klarman 25-19,
- Ed Maisonet & Paul Williams d. Jesus Ayala & Dwayne Sampson (10 point handicap) 25-15,
- Jonathan Lee & Alvaro Rebaza (8 point handicap) d. PeeWee Castro & Tony Roberts 25-15.

SEMIFINALS
- Kaplan & Sala d. Durso & Polanco 19-11 (by default),
- Maisonet & Williams d. Lee & Rebaza (8 point handicap) 25-21.

FINALS
- Kaplan & Sala d. Maisonet & Williams 25-12
