We are honored to be the recipient of the Major Fun Award, one of the many ways that Bernie "Major Fun" DeKoven, known to web denizens as the keeper of www.deepfun.com, helps promote fun as the core element to human well-being. Bernie also featured us in his daily briefing of 5/9/03; we thank him for all the kind words he's said about us.

As Bernie tells it, he had an epiphany some 30 years ago while developing a theater curriculum for elementary school kids: fun is fundamental to happiness, and people can be taught how to have more fun. "Life without fun is not worth much" says Bernie, and we couldn't agree more.

Bernie has developed and implemented "fun" events involving the cooperation of groups of all ages and sizes, from couples and families to schools and communities. He's the co-director of the New Games Foundation, and a lifetime member of The Association for the Study of Play and a professional member of the Association for Humanistic Psychology (links open in new window).
