Longball Competition
The longball competition is the warm-up event for the weekly games. Players contribute $5 (the money goes to the Police Athletic League) for 5 swings and the hope of being crowned the longball champ. Any player who hits the ball 200 feet or more receives a Daily News 2 sewer pin.
A number of power hitters clobbered the ball at the Bronx event. Jose Rodriguez - last year's Manhattan winner and Tito Rivera ended with a tie at 320 feet. Below are the list of 14 out of 27 contestants who received the 2 sewer pin.
