Nike Film Shoot in Coney Island

On June 19th, 2001 Nike did a video shoot of some of one-wall's top handball players Cesar Sala, Albert Apuzzi, Shawn Conrad and Robert Sostre. Nike was interested in including handball as part of their "Plays of the Summer" campaign highlighting various cities and some of their more intense play and sport activities.

The shoot took place at the Coney Island courts in Brooklyn New York. Go to the Nike site at play.nikeplay.com/play/ny.jsp and click "Hitting the Wall" to view a 26 second clip.

The filmmakers encouraged the players on, looking to capture intense action. Local fans watched as the crew placed cameras and a cameraman on the floor of the court, so they could fully record the pace of this 45 minute doubles spectacular. Dives, gets, lobs and killers in 20 plus shot vollies left the Nike crew in awe.
