Handball Halloween Night

By Albert Apuzzi
Oct 29, 1999

Dori Ten, dressed as a pirate, was the winner of best costume award at the 2nd Annual Halloween Handball Night at the Flatbush YMCA.

This facility used to be the playing site of the USHA One-Wall Nationals. Recent improvements to the courts, have fueled hopes of bringing Handball back. The YMCA has requested that handball be part of their "Open House" scheduled for December 1999.

The long term goal is to establish an Annual YMCA Championship and possibly a NYC/LI one-wall league. Sheila Clark-Hawkins, Health Enhancement Coordinator, has been hopeful that these goals will be reached. If you are interested in this idea can contact
1-wall@ushandball.org

The Flatbush YMCA is located at 1401 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. Anyone interested in playing handball there can contact Sheila at 718-469-8100.
